Football Kenya Federation (FKF) candidates for national positions have reacted to the county elections held last weekend with gusto and bravado.
National Executive Committee (NEC) candidates have given the county polls a clean bill of health and are now gearing up for the October 17th elections. Presidential candidate journalist Boniface Osano and NEC aspirant Tom Onyango Alila said they were satisfied with outcome of the county/branch polls held over the weekend and are now preparing for the race.
According to Osano, with upsets of Team Blue members, a group allied to the incumbent president Nick Mwendwa, losing in the county/branch polls, it is as a manifestation that the FKF Electoral Board was not serving the whims of Mwendwa’s administration.
“Am now confident that the forthcoming national polls will be free and fair; The results show that even Mwendwa and his crionies are vulnerable to defeat,” said Osano.
Osano urged the KF Electoral Board to tie the loose ends from the shortcomings that were experienced during the county/branch elections in conducting a flawless election process at the national level on October 17th.#
Alila said the candidates elected during the just concluded county/branch elections were polled in fairly in a free and fair process. “I have no problem with the electoral process where FKF leaders were elected legitimately, I only have some few reservations that am going to raise with the FKF Electoral Board,” he said.
