Champions Club Jojo bundled out of Sakaja Super cup in dramatic quarters

The Sakaja Super Cup 2023 ladies champions Club Jojo were bundled out of the 2024 edition of the tournament in the Nairobi East regional quarter finals played at Tom Mboya primary school grounds in Dandora, Monday 16 December.

Club Jojo playing their title defense against Soweto Starlets were forced to settle to a goalless draw before losing 3- 4 in the ensuing penalty shootout.

The hero of the match was Soweto goalkeeper who was introduced in the second half after an eligibility row on the first choice keeper. The subbed keeper would go on to save two spot kicks and seal Soweto Starlets victory.

In Nairobi West regions, 2023 runners up Kibagare Girls sealed a comfortable2-0 victory over slum scorers to move into the semi finals.

In other marches of the Sakaja Super Cup ladies chapter played at Tom Mboya grounds, Kahawa Pride beat Kamongo Starlets 3-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Tabitha Wambui opened opened the scoreline in the 15th minute for Kahawa pride before Miriam Zeriah leveled for Kamongo starlets in the 25th minute as both teams held on to force the match to penalties.

Halisi Soccer defeated 34C Allstars by a solitary goal courtesy of Jacinta Atieno who found the net in the 18th minute while Shrink Pack Starlets picked a 1- 0 victory over Kariobangi Sharks ladies a thanks to a 14th minute strike from Sharon Chepkemoi.
