Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Aberdares branch Chairman Davies Chege has lauded the current Federation for actualizing the National Under -16 boys  dream team which acts as a pool for Harambee Stars.

At the start of 2019 the Federation brought together 30 young players under the age of 15, on a homeschooling program, through a partnership with Wadi Degla.

The team took part in the Mediterranean International Cup in Spain, where they bowed out in the quarterfinal of the consolation stage. They also took part in the CECAFA U15 Tournament in Eritrea where they reached the finals of the inaugural junior competition, losing out to Uganda in the finals.

"I appreciate the current Federation's efforts to actualize the current Kenya U16 boys team that helps nurture and develop football at a tender age hence creating a pool for recruitment of players to the Kenya National Senior team,"  Chege said.

He further goes on to applaud the current regime for training over 2800 coaches in the Basic/Advanced (CAF D License) Level and a further 400 coaches in the CAF C Level over the last four years.

"The Federation has done a commendable job on training over 2000 coaches that has help cater for proper training of the current Kenya U16 boys team," He noted.
