Sportpesa boost Osaga Jamhuri day fights
Four fights will be on the cards tommorrow as city boxing organisers Osaga promotions stage the Jamhuri day boxing extravaganza at the Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium.
The bouts, which today recieved a shot in the arm with a Ksh 300,000 sponsorship from sports betting firm Sportpesa will see Kenyan Nick Otieno will take to the ring against Tanzanian Godfrey Silver in an eight round Bantam weight main bout while household name Fatuma Zarika faces Tanzania's Asha abubakar in the contests that kick off at 3.00 PM Saturday.

At the same time, Kuya called on other promoters to keep boxers engaged with more bouts to ensure standards of the sports are on the rise. "It is not only Osaga who can organise consistent bouts, i want to challenge other promoters to keep boxers busy,"
Sportpesa marketing representative Beatrice Kamau noted that in the spirit of nurturing sportsmen and women form across all sports disciplines, the firm will keep supporting sports. "We want to nurture sports in Kenya, not just football, we are also in boxing and the agreement we are making with Osaga will see Sportpesa sponsor match-days each month in the future," She said.

George Owano will meet Michael Odhiambo in another all Kenyan light welter weight bout.
