Hillary Alila joins leaders in paying last respect to Raila Odinga 

Former Homabay Senatorial aspirant, businessman Hillary Alila led a high level delegation to Kang’o Ka Jaramogi in Bondo, Siaya County in an emotional event where the leaders took time to pay their last respects to the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga following his untimely death last week.

In a gesture of solidarity and sympathy, Alila, who is also the Party Leader of the Green Congress Party, a national political party, joined other national leaders among them Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi, Businessmen Sam Mburu, Don Bosco Ooga Gichana and George Ayugi Mbuta on a visit to Kang’o Ka Jaramogi on a purpose to offer condolences and stand with the Odinga family during this time of mourning.

Speaking after the event, Alila noted that Raila Odinga was a towering figure in Kenyan political leadership who stood for change in the country’s good governance and rule of law who should be emulated and his death delt a huge blow to the nation.

“Our visit was to Kang’o Ka Jaramogi, as leaders was meant to comfort the Odinga family during this trying time and make a cal to all of us as a country to emulate Raila in his consistent fight for a just society. It was also a poignant reminder of the enduring spirit of the late Fidel Odinga. Standing by his final resting place, we were reminded that his legacy of loyalty and steadfast dedication to a common course continues to live on within us,” Alila said in his message.
“We pray for God’s comfort and for the souls of the faithful departed to rest in perfect peace,” Alila added.
Alila, who ran for the Homabay seat had the blessings of Raila in the by elections following the demise of former senator the late Otieno Kajwang and is poised to continue with his quest for better representation in Homabay, and the country ahead of the next elections.
Alila is a former president of the Kenya Professional Boxing Commission during whose stint at the helm of the KPBC, the levels of the sport of boxing in Kenya were put on a high pedestal uplifting the lives and careers of many boxers in the country.
