NOCK Holds Extraordinary General Assembly to Consider Constitution, Admit New Members

The National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK) today, 6th October, 2026 held its Extraordinary Special General Assembly in Nairobi, during which, the Assembly deliberated on its proposed constitutional amendments and the applications of sports federations seeking affiliation to NOC-K.

The SGM, which brought together members of the Olympic Movement deliberated on key matters affecting the organisation and its membership with the session providng an important platform to make decisions in line with the governance of the Olympic Movement in Kenya.

Led by NOCK President Shadrack Maluki, the general assembly among other things ratified guidelines for new members seeking admission to NOCK. Accordingly, NOCK admitted three new members, American Football federation, Skiing Federation and Lacrosse Federation, which officially affiliated to the National Olympic Committee of Kenya

President Maluki noted that the proposed Team Kenya High Performance Training Centre in Engineer is an important step towards building a more coordinated and sustainable high-performance system for Kenyan sport.

The facility is envisioned to bring together training, sports science, strength and conditioning, athlete recovery, medical support, coaching and accommodation under one integrated environment.

“Kenya has the talent. Our responsibility is to build the systems, infrastructure and support structures that allow that talent to reach its full potential.

This is the kind of long-term investment that can strengthen Team Kenya and secure a stronger sporting legacy for generations to come.” President Maluki said.

Followimg the SGM, Kenya’s Olympic movement got bigger with the affiliation of American Football federation, Skiing Federation and Lacrosse Federation to the National Olympic Committee of Kenya.

The three sports offer new pathways and even more room for Team Kenya athletes to discover, develop, compete and dream big.

“As we grow the Olympic Movement, the goal stays the same better sport, stronger systems and athletes at the heart of it all.” Maluki stated.
