Sakaja Super Cup Sub County groups revealed in draw

The Sakaja Super Cup 2024 sub counties groups will swing into action in the coming weekend following the groups draw that was conducted yesterday.

Defending champions Githurai All Stars who were awarded a walk over in the knockout stage after opponents Bentoz attempted to field ineligible players have been pooled in group B of Roysambu sub county alongside Kahawa United, Saints FC and Holy Mary FC.
The Roysambu sub county group B pooled PAC University, 44 Bulldogs, Kahawa Pride and 7 Stars FC.

During the Sakaja Super Cup Sub-County group stages draw that was conducted live on the Sakaja Super Cup Facebook page, eight teams that pulled through the knockout stages in all sub counties were pooled in two groups of four teams each.

Last year’s finalist Kawasaki FC landed in group A of Starehe sub county, a group that also has university side TUK hammers, NYS and Automec FC. In Stare he’s group B, Highway Secondary school have been pooled alongside SouthB Allstars, Speedworks FC and City Market FC.

In Kasarani, the 2023 Nairobi East regional finalists Victors Faith have been pooled in Group A along with Plan B and the winners between Kuza Academy and New Njiru as well as Maaji FC and Kasarani Homeboyz. The sub county group B has Mission FC and winners of three matches which pit Ruai United against Mwiki United, Victors Faith against Reliable Base and Elite All stars versus 26 All stars.

Embakasi Central, Jaba FC are in pool A along with Kayole Masters, Mwangaza All stars and Panthers FC while group B has Dr. Mwenje FC, Komarock Rangers, The Light Sports Academy and Bongonaya FC.

Embakasi North will feature two groups with two teams apiece from Dandora and Kariobangi. Group A has Dee-5 FC, Dandora Hotspurs, Clever stars and FC Baghdad. Group B has Dandora Rangers, Fulnesco, Kariobangi Blackstars and Kariobangi Sports FC.

Elsewhere in Kamukunji, Burma FC will be up against Shauri Moyo, Pumwani and Walala. The second group has Egesa, Usacli, Kiambui Warriors and Amazon FC.

Mbotela Kamaliza, Maringo Select, GAVA Fc and Powerlast Fc are in group A while A 1000 sportiff, Telaviv sports, Rada sports and Musa Otieno’s Kick off to hope are pooled in group B of Makadara sub county.

The 2023 Nairobi west regional semi finalists Kibagare Slums are in group B of Westlands sub county along with Gachie Soccer, White Eagles and RYSA FC while group A has Kabete Poly, Leads United, Big hawks and Kibagare Sportiff.

Sub county group stage matches are set to be played on Saturday and Sunday before the competition moves into the next stage.

In its inaugural edition, the Sakaja Super Cup made a lasting impact on Nairobi’s football landscape.
